Apr 30: Limbs to Core in Spherical Space Workshop

Tuesday, April 30, 2013
Workshop: 5:30-8:00pm
Location: Boulder Circus Center (4747 26th St, Boulder CO)
Taught by Alicia Grayson and J. Akiyama

In this Contact Improvisaion workshop we will build on our explorations of the joints to further integrate our limbs to our core while expanding our contact improvisational choices in spherical space.

Specifically we will:

  • Cultivate greater differentiation and expression of each limb and their connection to the core
  • Experience how agility in our joints supports more easeful full-body movements when dancing with our partners
  • Develop greater awareness of our back body and back space
  • Expand our ability to be comfortable upside down
  • Increase our capacity for disorientation while dancing in spherical space with our partners

This workshop is open to dancers with intermediate/advanced contact improvisation skills.

Cost: $35 if paid before April 16, $40 after April 16.  $65 sign-up for both Tuesday workshops (on 4/23, 4/30).
